Abstract
This study examined the effectiveness of the Data-Driven Decision-Making Teacher Training Program (DDDM-TTP), developed to support classroom teachers in making systematic and data-driven decisions during the pre-referral process for students they identified as being at risk. The program aimed to help teachers base their decisions on data, systematize the data collection process, and improve the content, clarity, and appropriateness to student needs of educational assessment forms. The effectiveness of the program was assessed through quantitative data collected using a single-group pretest-posttest design with the participation of four teachers working in public schools. Additionally, semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and educational assessment request forms were used to evaluate the process. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively, while qualitative data were analyzed using content analysis. The findings indicate that the DDDM-TTP provided significant contributions to teachers with respect to the variables identified for the pre-referral stage. Furthermore, the training was evaluated by both the teachers and the guidance counselors monitoring the students as applicable and contributive to professional development.
