The Effect of Academic Resilience and Self-Regulated Learning on Students' Social Studies Learning Outcomes
Keywords:
Academic Resilience; Learning Outcomes; Self-Regulated Learning; Social StudiesAbstract
Academic resilience and self-regulated learning benefit pupils by increasing their social studies learning results. Teachers rarely combine these two elements, though, because strong social studies learning outcomes are impacted not only by academic aptitude, but also by student psychological factors such as academic resilience and self-regulated learning. The goal of this study was to look at the impact of academic resilience and self-regulated learning on students' social science learning results. This research technique employs a quantitative methodology with a sample size of 265 elementary school students from Ambon, Indonesia. A questionnaire instrument is used to collect data on academic resilience and self-regulated learning as they relate to student social studies learning outcomes. Analysis of the research data used a structural equation model (SEM) with the help of the SmartPLS 3.0 application program. The results of the study show that academic resilience and self-regulated learning have a positive and significant effect on student social studies learning outcomes. Developing academic resilience and self-regulated learning for students can be an effective strategy for improving social studies learning outcomes. This study also underlines the importance of considering non-academic factors, such as resilience and self-regulation, in understanding and improving student learning outcomes in social studies.
